Proof of what a committed citizenry can do! Nice work Paul Graziano! We will remember who had our backs next election.

The fact remains that if you see something, keep complaining. Via Twitter, via Queens Crap, via Avella and Vallone. Take pictures, take video post it and make it visible.

The more people that actually do something, the better we will all be.

Honestly...if all of our elected officials (Paul V, where are you?) really cared and wanted to stop this shit, they could.

A final word on Paul Vallone; If anyone is considering voting for him, please consider his record on these types of issues. Please consider that he doesn't care about the community he represents (Jewish Center School conversion). Please consider that he is simply a cog in the democratic machine and doesn't do anything he isn't told to do.

Make a difference and vote this jerk out!

I applaud the tremendous efforts of everyone that put a stop to this illegal activity for the time being. Unfortunately it took all of this private citizen effort to get this stopped even though a stop work order had already been issued. More unfortunately however is the fact that the DOB or the courts are NEVER going to force this mess to be torn down. Remember, it will eventually get legalized and the developer will have gotten what he wanted.

So, they will pay the fines and continue work to completion. That's how the game is played in Queens.

Community Boards are useless in protecting our communities . They are considered advisory only so developers will always get their way. This has got to change,

And Paul Vallone twiddled his thumbs while this was all going on.
It took the other Paul....Graziano....to get the job done.....or in this case, stopped!
I have worked with Paul Graziano for years. I trust his community spirit. I do not trust Paul Vallone, a developers's lobbyist, to protect the best interests of our district's residents. Graziano has my vote, as he had in the past, should he choose to primary Paul Vallone.
I advise all homeowners , condo owners , renters , to dump Vallone. That's your best way to protect your investment in your neighborhood.

DoB needs to look beyond this specific job. The GC is non-registered (he can only dor minor Alteration 2 work). The design applicant is an NJ architect, who has worked with this GC in the past. The architect professionally certifies his filings - no surprise there; DoB wants pro-cert: less work for them and they can always say they aren't responsible for any problems... However, this particular guy has sever revocations based on audit. I'd say it's time to apply some of their whiz-bang data toys to tracking potential future problems.

DOB...read your own documents. The architect and owner are responsible:

Passing by this supposedly shut down abortion of a project, today , Oct. 29th, at just around 4:pm, I saw a contracting worker, still with his toolbelt on, quietly emerge from the front door. The huge dormer on the northern exposure, which juts percipitously over the property of the adjacent house's driveway, is now sheathed with plywood over the frame work. It was NOT that way yesterday. So obviously work was being carried out today, evidenced by the carpenter I saw. There are also two window cuttouts for skylights just been cut away into the front facing roof sheathing peak. And there is a fresh, empty dumpster in the driveway. So wtf is a stop work order. This scumbag builder is surely on the way to keeping on with this nice bit of minor alreration. Personally a will placed fire bomb is the only suitable alternative I see.
